Community drumming is one of the most ancient and universal activities known to humankind! Angie Mack, founder of Ozaukee Talent, has been bringing diverse groups of people together through music for most of her life. She loves the inclusivity and versatility of drumming and encourages all ages and skill levels to participate! Bring your own percussion instrument to "the circle" or experiment with making sounds with those "on hand".
Experience a drum circle that is a welcoming, collaborative space where participants gather in a circle with drums, percussion instruments, or even homemade sound-makers. Instead of relying on spoken instructions, the group communicates through rhythm, body language, and attentive listening.
In this setting, experimentation is encouraged while participants explore different sounds, tempos, and patterns without fear of “making a mistake.” Listening becomes a key skill, as each person tunes in to the group’s collective beat, responding to subtle changes and adding their own voice to the rhythm. Intuition guides the flow, allowing participants to sense when to lead, when to follow, and when to let the music breathe.
The result is a shared, wordless conversation—an improvised musical journey that fosters creativity, emotional expression, and a deep sense of connection facilitated by longtime music director, performer and composer Angie Mack Creative.
This improvisational and non-verbal activity will be amazing with YOU in it! Feel free to "jump into the circle" for as little or as long as you like!
